And now, something REALLY GOOD: AirDroid

Every now and then I stumble uppon a piece of software which amazes me by its overall quality. +AirDroid is such a software. I'm not quite sure how I lived without it before. Really, it is so good.

But let me start with the application description. Check their website. It is an application for wireless management of your Android device available for free in Google Play. Yes, it is important to accentuate the fact that the whole setup (application and the accompanying website) is free. Unbelievable for such a polished app.

Okay, so what I can do with it, you're probably asking me. Well, many things. But first, you need to start the app on your device. First time you start the application, you can go through five screens which briefly explain what you can do with it.

Just glance through those 5-6 screens to get familiar with the concept and then start the application.

And that's it!

Then you simply open http://web.airdroid.com/ in your browser and enter your code.

In your web browser you'll see many options. I especially like this one:

Yes, you can push any text to your device clipboard! Really cool.

Taking screenshots from AirDroid is very simple. As you use your Nexus (or any other Android phone or tablet), AirDroid monitors its screen in realtime!

Click on the Pause button to stop realtime screen updates.

Or click on the Photo button to take the screenshot.

Browsing the folder structure on the device is really simple:

Upload or download files with ease:

In short, whatever you think that should be there, it actually is!

Let's take a look at the Android part of the solution.

Browse files, applications, check the device memory and storage status...

And what's the most interesting, it really works! I'm using it daily since installed, mainly for file transfer. No more funny cables!

Check out their video:

One thing missing, but not crucial, is the possibility to continuously take the screenshots and create a movie.

To resume, very useful piece of software. Install it and you'll find yourself using it very often.

    1. I haven't noticed deterioration of performances of the device, but when in this mode, you usually look at your computer screen and don't use the Nexus, so...
